Thank you all for making us feel welcome.
We had a very dear friend [third generation JW] come visit us for a weekend last year. I forget what we were talking about but our friend made the comment that "I do believe Christ died on a cross". It was kind of shocking to us, but we've known him long enough NOT to react like the typical JW and throw him out of our house. So we heard him out. He also showed us the cherry-picking WT had done with the Reasoning book under the sub-heading 'Cross' and how the Imperial Bible Dictionary they quote from, was cherry picked it to make it sound like the book was pro-stake, when it actually is pro-cross.
Hallejah! [Yes, I'm trying to be funny] We felt that if they lied about that, what else have they lied about? So we just started asking him a million questions and poured over our bibles.
That was all it took for Hubby & I both. 1 weekend and together. So I am so thankful that we both could see it together because I see so many on here that are losing mates & children.
The next weekend we went to see our daughter & her hubby, took them out to lunch and just started telling them some of the more pronounced things we had learned. My son-in-law looked like he was going to lose his lunch.
But they could see it right away and confessed that they both had, had doubts about JW teachings their entire lives.
Hallejah! Our kids came out with us. They were the most important ones we wanted to reach. The G'ma's we've tried but the choice is theirs.

hardly a gripping plot.

Thought this was too funny! It was e-mailed to me from a friend who hasn't quite signed up yet, but doesn't mind me posting his anonymous comments: "Caleb wants something that doesn’t belong to him. What helps him make the right decision?" I would ask this: "WT wants something that doesn't belong to it- your time, your life, your family inheritance, your worship. What will help WT make the right decision?" Oh, yes, I remember- actually following the Bible.

No one who leaves "the truth" is ever happy?
by El_Guapo infor years, i was told this..... " anyone who leaves the org is bitter, sad, and worse off, why do you think they come back???
guess what guys i am the opposite, now i quit cold-turkey (looking back, i should have faded correctly) i am planning on going to the memorial this month just to hear all "the friends" tell me how much they missed me.
since i have left the meetings, (jan. was my last meeting, i think).

OMG...I missed the whole SPARLOCK craze....
by Pyramid Scheme ini hadn't been on the board to visit much last year, so i have been going back and poking around through the older threads since i started to post here.
i was on jwfacts.com, and noticed paul had posted a brief article about the jw video and the evil sparlock the warrior wizard.
we have no children, and i never got those videos anyway (even when i was still an elder), so when i went back and read all of the old threads, i was crying laughing.

Thank you. I've read several stories on here of how everyone who dares to have a critical or independent thought is crucified by family & friends.
I knew this would happen. Jesus even told his followers that they would be persecuted & HATED because of His name. Gojira & I have been grieving and upset because it appears that we have lost my Mom. We thought she was seeing TTATT and was even agreeing with me and calling and telling me things that were being said at the meetings she didn't agree with. But sadly, she let my sister dictate to her that we were to have no further contact.
Love & peace to all and we're glad to be here! And away from the that mind control cult!

My husband has quit 'lurking' over my shoulder when I post here and he just signed up as a new member, he will be using the name Brother of the Hawk.
But I want to tell all of you how much our family has appreciated all of you, for your kind words & support. I know most of you have been dealing with family & friends issues yourself. But I think together, we can all survive this horrible cult.
I am also trying to convince a dear friend of ours, to quit being a 'lurker' and sign up and be a member because he has alot to add. He is the one that brought up TTATT to us last year and has been thru hell the past 2.5 years himself.
The Gestapo is after us in a 'witch-hunt' frenzy but we just keep ignoring their messages and phone calls. But now with G'ma offended that my Hubby told her Jehovah is not God's true name she is calling all our friends and family and telling them we have gone apostate.
They are 'unfriending' me on Facebook and scattering so fast it's like watching cockroaches when you turn the light on.

Update: So G'ma was so offended by Hubby saying that Jehovah was not God's real name that she is now calling EVERYONE telling them we have gone apostate. ALL of our family, even tho my daughter and her hubby have said NOTHING to anyone.
Every single JW we've known for the past 40+ years is shunning us and has unfriended us on Facebook and not ONE single person has contacted us to find out if uit's true or not.
Gojira got a couple of NASTY emails from our cousins back East that were full of judgement and critisism, telling her that they were offended lately because they have 'liked' some questionable items on Facebook like the 'DUI sobriety test w/ dancing drunk' [I think it was a 'mock' cop stop but that was hilarious by the way] then her hubby used the word 'Hell' in one of his posts.
Really????
They're going to condemn my kids for that? I'll give 'em something bigger and much better to condemn!!!!
